Remember when I said my husband was an overachiever with OCD. I wasn't kiding. We decided a few weeks ago that we were going to do some fencing this year and add another pasture to our yard. You see, for the last few years my dear husband has been cutting approx more than 10 acres of yard. He thought it looked nice and that it was great to have a BIG yard. He was right it did look nice ehen it ws cut but no one wanted to be around him after he had cut it. You see cutting the lawn was an all weekend job and the pollen and dust mad him stuffed up so by the time he was done he was a miserable man. SO this year (after I had suggested it in precious years) he thought it would be a good idea to do some fencing and eliminate some of the work. Great.
Now to the crazy part. This fencing job involved about 60 posts and the addition of 3 heavy duty gates. So last week it was my job to find a post pounder. There wasn't a single one available for miles, until the end of May. So instead of waiting like any NORMAL human being he elected to build the fence by hand. Yes my crazy husband hand dug (not with an gas powered auger either) 60 fence post holes then hand tamped them with an 80lb tamping rod, then strung 3 strands of high tensile wire and hammered all of the wire on by hand in one day. Oh yeah he also hung the VERY HEAVY gate too. When asked why he wouldn't wait, " I wanted to build the fence THIS WEEKEND I have other things to do this summer. This crazy stubborness is why I love him. When he wants something he goes out and gets it, sometimes a little crazy but it makes life interesting. Besides if our girls hadn't inherited such stubborness from both of us they may not have had the determination to survive 4 months in the NICU. Love you dear rest your tired muscles.
